ISLAMABAD, Sep 3 (APP): The delay is not on the part of Pakistan Cricket Board regarding development of three international standard turf pitches in one of Sri Lanka famous 135-year old school, a PCB Spokesman said on Thursday.“PCB wishes to clarify that the delay has not been on part of PCB”, he said, adding that PCB has been constantly in contact with Sri Lanka Cricket.
In this regard PCB has written letters to Sri Lanka cricket on 28th April, and again on 1st June, 2009 in which Sri Lankan cricket was asked to send us the details and cost structure of this project. In May 2009 Chairman Sri Lanka Cricket advised PCB that they had identified the area for laying the turf pitches and they would shortly send us a cost structure. However they have so far not provided any details PCB.
PCB again approached Sri Lanka cricket and asked them to provide us the details so that PCB may move ahead with honoring its commitment of laying these pitches.
During Chairman PCB’s Visit to Sri Lanka in August, 2009 Chairman PCB again reminded Chairman Sri Lanka Cricket to provide details to PCB. Sri Lanka Cricket Promised to provide the details.
In a recent correspondence with Sri Lanka Cricket they have again promised to get back to PCB with more details on this project very shortly.
“PCB will provide all necessary assistance as and when the requisite information is received from Sri Lanka”, the Spokesman concluded.
